Matt Cook is an LA-based screenwriter who fled the doom of central Florida, escaped to Brooklyn to create a range of video, animation, and music projects, and continues developing writing projects in Los Angeles.
Matt wrote and directed a short film, The Next Best Thing, about a dating app dystopia. He co-wrote and co-directed the web series Nights In Ultraviolet which was described by Vulture as “If Twin Peaks and Seinfeld had a baby and moved to Brooklyn.” Matt also wrote, directed, voiced, and animated a 22-minute animated pilot titled Cafe Bloodbath which took home the Best Animation award in the 2011 New York Television Festival Independent Pilot Competition.
Matt is currently producing streaming content at Strange Turns and developing a project with artist and animation director, Chris Palmer. Most of his time not spent writing is spent making music, running TTRPGs, cooking, practicing archery, volunteering, or reading about history and socioeconomics.
